I logged on today and there were13 guests and me. WHo are the guests as they were itemised as writing replies to forum posts but had zero time use. Are they phantom users?

There are alway more lurkers than contributors to forums. You can only post if you become a member of the forum. The most likely reason for a high level of guests on the forum is a visit by a search engine trawling the site, they often have several "helpers".

But without the little bots you wouldn't find half the goodies on the internet, where would the Googles', MSN and ASK Jeaves etc. be without them :)
